CCT

CCT

The cone in a CCT is the foundation of efficient sediment separation and yeast settling during fermentation, and its angle directly affects process quality. A steep cone of 60–75° is suitable for actively fermenting beverages with high yeast and sediment content, such as classic ales or wheat beers. A shallower cone of 30–45° is used for lager styles, where fermentation is slower and sediment volume is lower.

The cooling jacket, in which a pressurized propylene glycol solution circulates as a coolant (or heat carrier), is an essential part of high-quality fermentation equipment. Whether spiral or dimpled, it ensures uniform cooling along the entire height of the beer column, giving the brewer efficient control over the fermentation process and precise temperature management.

You can choose either a standard vessel configuration with a top manway or a CCT with an additional side manway. The top manway provides sanitary access, convenient dry hopping, and ingredient addition. The side manway is a practical option that simplifies cleaning of large-volume tanks. Termo-Pub offers both configurations.

Cylindroconical tanks

Fermentation efficiency depends on the correct selection of a CCT, where each design element plays its role. The proper cone angle determines the behavior of different yeast cultures, their sedimentation rate, and the clarity of the final product. The type of cooling jacket ensures temperature stability, which is critical for the beer’s aroma profile. Other important factors include the number of cooling circuits, the level of internal surface polishing, high-quality insulation, and the presence of automated temperature and pressure sensors.

We use our own spunding valves (allowing precise control and maintenance of working pressure in the CCT) and can also offer installation of European alternatives. Additionally, we optionally provide safety systems such as pressure relief valves or dual-action valves.

Each fermentation vessel we produce is equipped with a reliable rotary CIP cleaning head, convenient manways, and ergonomic fittings for yeast discharge and sample collection.

The combination of these elements ensures consistent flavor and a safe fermentation process.
